Spectacular site for all kinds of butterflies including Grayling and Drab Looper. Clearing brambles and coppicing small trees to allow light for basking.

Local coppice craftsman Dave Jackson will be taking us through the stages of coppicing a small area of Hazel, the management of which benefits the local dormouse population.
Park: Holywell Road. Follow MHC signs where it joins the Wells Road at the southern junction.

- Conservation Days are held between 10 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. but please feel free to arrive and leave at any time between.
- Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day, although you may like to bring your own lunch.
- Steel toecap boots are ideal footwear; otherwise sturdy boots with good grip.
- Please also have suitable clothing for practical work and changeable weather.
- No experience is necessary as friendly guidance is given at.
- Children aged 15 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.

To promote the meadow flowers, we will be cutting and raking hay. Also we will dismantle an old wooden fence.

Clearing scrub to promote the Spring Ephemeral habitat.
