We have a new community orchard at Townsend Way to the east of the Malvern Hills, and this needs planting and on going maintenance. The orchard will help to preserve local, traditional fruit tree varieties, as well as providing a haven for wildlife. Growing below the trees during spring and summer are wildflowers, which provide a splash of colour; such as bush vetch and black knapweed and they act as nectar sources for butterflies, bees and other insects.
The cost of donating a tree to the Townsend Way community orchard is £150. The specialist fruit trees are more expensive than woodland trees, and the donation includes a contribution towards the ongoing maintenance of the orchard.

Please remember that fruit trees are only planted in the winter months, but we are happy to receive donations outside of this period and then plant your tree in the winter.
Due to the status of the Malvern Hills as a Site of Special Scientific Interest tree planting is not permitted on the Hills themselves.
