    Conservation Manager Jonathan Bills will be explaining the importance of conserving species-rich grassland habitats that are becoming increasingly rare in the UK.  Join us to find out more about the winter tree and scrub work on the Hills and Commons.

Please be aware that booking for events is essential for all events.  Places are limited and you may be turned away if the event is fully booked.

Booking with us ensures that we can call you if an event may need to be cancelled for any reason.

Important information

Walk leaders will ensure that the walks are walked at a steady pace with regular learning & rest stops. 

  • Please come prepared for the outdoors - wear appropriate weatherproof clothing, sturdy footwear, sun block & a sun hat.   Bring a flask & lunch for longer events. 

  • Please note that the car park charge is £4.

  • No dogs please unless stated otherwise.

Parking on the Hills and Commons

We don't charge for our events but all charitable donations are gratefully received and go towards the conservation of the Hills and Commons.

Thinking of running an event?

If you're looking to run a sponsored walk or event on the Hills please make an application so we can provide permission for your event.  We've also produced some guidelines to help you plan your event.

The Hills and Commons are a popular place for walks, runs and other outdoor events so we need to make sure that the event fits in with other activities on the Hills and that all the arrangements are in place for your event to run smoothly.
