New bracken management

You may have seen evidence of our bracken management on the Hills – the stripy slopes!

We’re also controlling bracken in other ways. This week a professional contractor will be targeting two small areas of bracken with a herbicide spray.

We have put up notices on Malvern Common where the bracken is being treated.

The herbicide is targeted to ferns and does not pose any risk to people or pets but we do ask that you keep your dog on a lead in these areas to allow the contractor to safely carry out his work.

You may see that the bracken has a bit of a blue tinge when it has been treated.

This way of managing bracken has been approved by Natural England and is used on nearby Wildlife Trust reserves.
