We are celebrating our 140th anniversary with a display along Church Walk, Great Malvern. The exhibition near Waitrose, features some of the work, achievements and history of the Trust. The exhibition includes images looking back over the last 140 years and looks forward to what the next 140 years may bring for the organisation.
The Malvern Hills Trust, the working name of the Malvern Hills Conservators, manages over 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres) of land on the Hills and Commons of Malvern.
Beck, Community and Conservation officer said, "We're excited to bring some of our archive photos to life for people to see and to raise awareness of some of the opportunities and challenges that may come in the future."
"The world has changed significantly since the Trust was first established in 1884. The 1884, and subsequent four Acts are now so cumbersome and outdated that they are hampering our day-today-efforts to conserve this special landscape. Over the next six months the Trust will be preparing proposals for a new Act of Parliament to enable the Trust to care for the Malvern Hills and Commons more effectively now and for future generations. We will start a formal public consultation in summer to allow people to have their say. We encourage people to make comments."
"Thank you to Malvern Hills District Council for the administration of this fantastic opportunity along Church Walk and for their support for local organisations and groups."
The exhibition along Church Walk will be on display until the 25th March. We're also promoting the exhibition via social media - Facebook, X, Instagram
