The Geology of the Malvern Hills
Some of our volunteers carried out scrub clearance at Brockhill Quarry recently, opening up and making safe access to the quarry faces. This allowed a second group of volunteers from the Earth Heritage Trust to expose and clean up the main features of geological interest.
The geology of the Hills is of national importance as recognised by its inclusion within the Malvern Hills SSSI designation as a notified feature and plays a role in the unique character of the area. Certain geological exposures on the Hills and elsewhere on MHT land are recognised as important through their designation as Local Geological Sites.
You can find out more about the geological features and heritage on our page here: Geology Malvern Hills Trust
We work with Earth Heritage Trust (The Herefordshire & Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust) to ensure sites are assessed and restored on a regular basis through vegetation clearance and access management
